چکیده

Abstract Background Photothermal therapy (PTT), involving application of localized hyperthermia to kill cancer cells, has attracted wide attention in therapy. The production reactive oxygen species (ROS) during PTT may cause irreversible damage healthy tissues around the tumor. Simultaneously, can stimulate inflammatory response, thus promoting tumor recurrence and metastasis. Therefore, it is paramount importance reduce undesired side effects for further development PTT. Results Using a hydrothermal method, spherical Prussian blue nanoparticles (PBs) with uniform size were prepared. PBs exhibited good dispersion stability saline an average hydrodynamic 110 nm. prepared had high photothermal conversion efficiency stability. showed intrinsic ROS scavenging properties vitro. Antioxidant anti-inflammatory also observed vivo. Assessment toxicity endoplasmic reticulum stress-inducing ability that did not induce response. Tissues major organs mice stained hematoxylin–eosin no significant damage, indicating biocompatibility safety PBs. Conclusion designed single-component could avoid response heat stress-induced Thus, research on worthwhile achieve their clinical translation promote

Polydopamine Nanoparticles for Combined Chemo- and Photothermal Cancer Therapy

Cancer therapy with two different modalities can enhance treatment efficacy and reduce side effects. This paper describes a new method for combined chemo- and photothermal therapy of cancer using poly dopamine nanoparticles (PDA-NPs), where PDA-NPs serve not only as a photothermal agent with strong near infrared absorbance and high energy conversion efficiency, but also as a carrier to deliver ...
